Sandbox Gaming

John Michael Bennett, President and Co-Founder of Sandbox Gaming, will present on a unique fundraising concept in Newfoundland and Labrador. In 2010, Sandbox Gaming ran the first video game marathon for children’s charities in the province, and since then have raised over $60,000 through this method which is now catching on throughout the world. 

Sandbox Gaming is also known for developing a gaming community in the province, including the annual Newfoundland Gaming Expo, an event that also sees some of the proceeds go to charity.

Bennett and Sandbox Gaming believe that positive gaming can be used for good in many ways, including fundraising for great causes. 

Over the course of the talk, Bennett will talk about how the fundraising method came to fruition in the province, how it has been used by other groups in the province, and how it is now used worldwide to raise millions of dollars each year for charity.
