Vocational Service Award
Vocational Service Award Recipient 2007
Wendy Decker, RN, Coordinator of the Cardiac Rehabilitation Program with the Eastern Health Authority, was presented with a Paul Harris Fellowship in recognition of her achievements in her chosen profession. At a club meeting on June 5, 2007, nominating Rotarian Ernie Reid (co-nominator was Dr. M. Furlong) read Wendy's extensive professional biography, and elaborated on her extraordinary energy, enthusiasm and capacity to motivate people who are recovering from heart health problems. Wendy has counseled close to 1,000 people in making dietary and lifestyle changes, helping them deal with and overcome challenges related to heart health. Despite this high number of clients, Wendy is able to offer very personal guidance to each and every one, often maintaining a long term connection with them. Our club was very pleased with this year's selection of the Vocational Service Award.
