Another successful Fundraiser with Easter Seals NL!!
🏃🚶‍♀️🧑‍🦽🚶

The Easter Seals NL and its supporting sponsor, the Rotary Club of St. John's Northwest, partnered to host a well-attended "Run Walk Stroll and Roll" Fundraiser at Bowring Park on Saturday, September 27, 2025. We are pleased to share that $20,000 was raised through the event.

A substantial number of participants and volunteers contributed to the event's success. As this initiative is a long-standing charitable commitment of our club to Easter Seals, we are pleased to support its success.

What does Easter Seals Newfoundland and Labrador offer: over 20 programs and services that help persons with disabilities, ranging from camps, recreational activities, to creative expression through music, dance, and art, family events, to employment and educational disability awareness programs. These programs consistently help individuals with disabilities reach new heights year after year. This includes everything from increased physical ability and self-esteem to securing meaningful employment.

🎊 We are thrilled to share more exciting news from our Rotary Club of St John's Northwest!

President-Elect Regina Russell presented Ronan Leonard, a talented 13-year-old student, with a $1500 Evan and Neva Johnson Music Bursary to assist and further his musical studies.

Ronan is one of the five outstanding students to receive this prestigious bursary for the 2025-2026 academic year.

He is photographed with his proud music teacher, Mary Lynn Hiscock, who has nurtured Ronan's musical talent since he was four years old. "Ronan is a gifted musician with a natural affinity for music," says Mrs. Hiscock. Ronan was so grateful for the bursary and is eager to continue his musical journey with Mrs. Hiscock.

We offer our warmest congratulations to Ronan and wish him all the best in his future musical endeavors! 👏🎉

⭐The Rotary Club of St John's Northwest is thrilled to announce Spencer Long as the latest recipient of the prestigious Evan and Neva Johnson Music Bursary for 2025-2026.

The bursary recognizes Spencer's young musical talent and passion for learning piano.

As one of five outstanding music students to receive this honor for 2025-2026, Spencer, aged 8, is a grade three student at Holy Family School.

Rotary President-Elect Regina Russell proudly made the presentation to a very excited Spencer at Frequency Music School in Paradise, accompanied by his piano teacher, Daryna Holius, and family, including his dad, Zackary Long, and his grandmother, Claudia Long.

The $1500 bursary will provide him with continued support for another year of instruction. He also received a certificate to proudly hang in his room!

Spencer's achievements so far serve as a testament to the power of music education and community support.

Congratulations, Spencer, on this outstanding accomplishment! We wish you a wonderful year of musical studies!
