Joann Greeley
Women Apprentices

Joann will be talking about her journey to Journeyperson Red Seal Electrician.  She will explain how she moved out of the office and on to the construction site.  She became an advocate for tradeswomen after she saw the discrimination and barriers that tradeswomen were facing.  She created a group called the Diversity Network to create the document: https://wrdc.ca/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/Balance_To_Build.pdf

She wants to see people thrive in whichever type of job they choose.  After volunteering as a mentor for Office to Advance Women Apprentices she started working for them.   She has been part of a national organization, Build Together, that mentors tradeswomen across Canada.  A member of the Canadian Apprenticeship Forums, Supporting Women in Trades Tasks Force and has been accepted into the Governor-General Leadership Conference 2020.

She is passionate about community and connections.   As a yoga teacher, she volunteers her time to give free classes and holds workshops.

As an owner of a Little Free Library in Green’s Harbor, it is great to support the community and meet new people.
