The Rotary Club of St. John's Northwest is seeking a beneficiary for the proceeds of our annual gala and auction. Our areas of focus for this year's fundraising are mental health and/or addictions, as we recognize that these are areas of great need within our city.

Overview

The Rotary Club of St. John’s Northwest is seeking a community partner to support as a beneficiary of our annual fundraising gala to be held on April 6, 2019.  We are seeking proposals for projects that will address mental health and/or addictions in the St. John’s area.

The Rotary Club of St. John’s Northwest

The Rotary Club of St. John’s Northwest is one of six Rotary Clubs in the St. John’s area.  For over fifty years, members of the Rotary Club of St. John's Northwest have dedicated themselves to helping our community at home and internationally. 
The Rotary Club of St. John’s Northwest has a membership of over 80.  Each year, members engage in fundraising efforts to support projects locally, regionally and internationally.  The Rotary Club operates a registered charitable foundation to support its humanitarian projects. Eligibility Requirements

  • Proposals for up to $20,000 will be accepted.  Funding will be available to the successful organization before the end of June 2019.
  • The funding will support a project in the areas of mental health and/or addictions in the St. John’s area.
  • The project will build on community strengths and assets, utilizing community skills, knowledge and experience as appropriate.
  • Collaborative partnerships are desirable where possible. 
  • The application will demonstrate consideration of long term sustainability.
  • At the completion of the project, a final report and presentation to the Rotary Club of St. John’s Northwest will be required.
  • The successful applicant will be required to recognize the Rotary Club of St. John’s Northwest’s support for the initiative, both to its membership and the public, in a manner agreed upon by both parties.
  • The Rotary Club of St. John’s Northwest will recognize the organization and project as a part of its fundraising and public relations activities.

Funding will not support:

  • Regular operating costs of the organization, including salaries.
  • Capital funding for building or renovations.
  • Grants to individual clients of the organization in any form including financial assistance, travel or micro-finance loans.

How to apply:

Submit a proposal of no more than 5 pages to include:
  • Organization’s mission and goals
  • Description of the specific project
  • Overall project budget
  • Budget of expected expenses to be covered by the Rotary funding
  • Anticipated timelines for completion
  • Sustainability measures taken under consideration
  • If this project is reoccurring, provide any materials demonstrating past successes and impact.
  • Rotarians regularly participate in hands-on community projects. Please indicate if there would be an opportunity for Rotarians to participate or assist with this project in any way.
