The Rotary Club of St.John's Northwest had the pleasure of hosting a special guest, Rotary District Governor Marcel Gervais from New Brunswick.

District Governor Marcel Gervais Kicks Off 2025–26 Rotary Year with Visit to St. John’s Northwest

St. John’s, NL — District Governor Marcel Gervais made his inaugural official district club visit on Tuesday, July 8, speaking at the Rotary Club of St. John’s Northwest luncheon at the Sheraton Hotel. As District Governor for Rotary International District 7815, DG Gervais outlined his strategic vision and the district’s support for clubs entering the 2025–26 Rotary year.

During his remarks, DG Gervais emphasized collaboration between clubs and District 7815 leadership to enhance community impact, bolster membership, and accelerate service initiatives across Atlantic Canada and Saint Pierre & Miquelon.

The luncheon also featured two significant recognitions:

  • Dorothy Sullivan received the prestigious Paul Harris Fellowship pin in acknowledgement of her outstanding contributions to Rotary.

  • Larry Pittman, President of Rotary St. John’s Northwest, was honored with a 20‑Year Service Pin, celebrating his two decades of dedicated Rotary service.

Following the official presentation, DG Gervais and club members wrapped up the visit with a friendly round of golf, symbolizing commitment, camaraderie, and a spirited start to the coming Rotary year.

A longtime Rotarian serving for 19 years, DG Gervais has previously served as President of the Rotary Club of Moncton (2016–17) and as District Governor-elect before taking office this July.
