Valued Rotarian John Harnett was presented with a certificate for 50 years of service with Rotary Club of St. John’s Northwest this week. Congratulations John, thank you for everything that you do for the club and your community. You are the epitome of Service Above Self.

Meet Klaire, one of our remarkable speakers from yesterday’s Rotary luncheon. She’s a grade 11 student from Gonzaga High School, and was one of the District 7815 representatives who attended Honouring Indigenous Peoples (HIP) in BC in March of 2024. This Rotary sponsored program brings together 25 indigenous and 25 non-indigenous youth from across Canada to learn about and appreciate indigenous culture through workshops and hands on experiences.
Lisa Browne, Vice-President of Administration, Finance and Advancement, Memorial University of Newfoundland (MUN), spoke at our Rotary Luncheon this past week. She gave a very informative decade by decade review of MUN, hitting on the incredible highlights that it’s experienced over the last century. MUN celebrates its 100th Anniversary this year.

🎄 Spreading Holiday Cheer with the Rotary Club of St. John’s Northwest! 🎄
Yesterday, Regina Russell from our club proudly delivered $5,075 to both Thrive and the Single Parent Association of NL as part of our Christmas Giving initiative. 🎁
There are over 300 people in the city experiencing homelessness. Thrive will use the funds to host a delicious and festive Christmas turkey dinner on December 19th, helping to ensure they have a warm meal this holiday season. 🍽️❤️
The Single Parent Association of NL, with Executive Director Jennifer Tarrant and her team, expressed their gratitude. With over 800 single parents registered for their Christmas Magic Fundraiser, our donation will significantly help meet the needs of single parents this year. 🙌✨
We are deeply grateful to support these incredible organizations and make a positive impact in our community this holiday season! 🌟🤝
